Day 22 November 22nd
Today I’m thankful for Thanksgiving!
I’m thankful for the holiday today, we spent it with just our family of 7! Which is more than enough people 🙂 we started our family tradition of going around the table saying what we are thankful for a few years ago.
We ate, and ate, and ate! We are still eating! Of course food is not the reason for this holiday, but it helps to bring the family together.
I’m thankful for my little brother Travis who is spending his first Thanksgiving in the Army. I miss him and wish he were here, but like all the other military members I’m thankful for his sacrifice. On the contrary, I’m thankful I no longer have to make that sacrifice. I have missed many of holidays away from my family due to the call of duty, underway, or deployment.
Lastly, but most important I am thankful to my Lord and Savior. Without Him the Thanksgiving holiday has no meaning. Without His Holy Word there is no true meaning of thanks. It is Him that defines it! With that I conclude that unless you know Him as your personal savior you don’t truly know the meaning of Thanksgiving. With love
“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
